“We love reading the story to our 4-year-old. It’s a perfect mix of cute dogs, a little bit of excitement and things to learn.”
Paws up!
Hello. We are Button and Gizmo and we spend a huge amount of our time running, sniffing and exploring. We are full of energy (most of the time) and very inquisitive. That means nosey. Children love us because we are quite small which makes us very cute and because we love to have our necks tickled. We hear grown-ups say we are a Jack Russell. We don’t know who Jack is, we’re called Button and Gizmo. Maybe they are confused, but we’re sure Jack is a handsome dog too.
We love adventure!
We are proud to have been born in Scotland! We have also lived in Northern Ireland and we still sometimes have adventures there. We have visited Tipperary, Portsmouth, Plymouth and Anglesey in Wales, and have lots more trips planned. We travel in a campervan which is great fun.
Our pad!
We now live with our grown-ups in the Lake District in Cumbria, England. We hear them tell other grown-ups we are rescues, but we’re not sure what that means. We just know there are so many really pretty places for adventures in the Lake District and for learning new things.
We love to help people get to know how important animals are and how they can look after them, whether they are pets or farm animals, or wild animals. We run lots but most of all we watch everything, hear the slightest sound and smell things humans can’t, like the hedgehogs in the garden.
Our stories!
We are the real dogs but we don’t stay still very long to get a photo of all our adventures so we asked a very clever artist to draw us. We also asked a lady to write our stories. She likes to write. She has written poems, short stories, news announcements, speeches and lots of the stuff you read on websites. She lives in the Lake District too and is always saying we are intuitive. We know that means we are smart. Just like grown-ups we get nervous and a little bit worried about new things and she thought you might like to see the world through our eyes. She thought it might help explain important things to children such as treating everyone with kindness and helping each other.
